My Aunt Mitzi makes beautiful quilts, She sent one for Noah and it is such a treasure to me. She hand stitches her quilts, I can't imagine the time and effort she puts into her quilts. Someday I might try my hand at that kind of quilting.
I started sewing about 4 years ago and just in the past 2 years have started making Rag Quilts. They are time consuming but very forgiving (they hide little mistakes well)
In May 2011 my brother, sil and niece/nephew came up from New Brunswick to visit. My SIL was looking at a baby quilt I made and at pictures of other quilts and asked me to make quilts (twin bed sized) for my niece/nephew. I just finished Olivia's quilt last night after about 6 hours of sewing. I need to finish Luke's this coming week. My oldest brother Don is coming to visit for 9 days! :) I'm excited to see him and this has certainly lit the fire to get me busy on these quilts.
The fabric that has the word Peace on it was picked out by Olivia.
This is the fabric that was picked out for Luke's quilt, I'll be putting it together tomorrow once the kids are back in school :)
I also have an order for 260 reusable snack sacks. I need to get those done asap as well! I'll be spending this next week at my sewing machine :)
